Funded by the Global Fund with Society for Family Health (SFH), as Recipient and “Association of Civil Society working on malaria, immunization and Nutrition” (ACOMIN), as sub-recipient, RIVCHO undertook social mobilization to bring about increased and informed demand and use of malaria prevention and treatment services and products in Udu LGA during the year 2011. The project activities include Rallies, Drama, Health talks, Town Hall meetings etc. The advocacy to community leaders paid off in the well attended activities and the co-operation received from people in Udu Communities. There was not a community with anybody who has not suffered malaria. The people were however unhappy that Nets and medications were not distributed as a part of the project. But they promised to imbibe the lessons leant especially on prevention.
