RIVCHO ED IN PIND TOT

February 19 to 22, the Executive Director of RIVCHO Rev Francis Waive was among participants invited from across the country by Foundations for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) for a Train the Trainer workshop on Bio-sand filter construction, hygiene education and distribution through micro-enterprise development.
The workshop which held at PIND Development Centre Egbokodo-Itsekiri enabled participants to gather materials and construct a bio-sand filter, teach others how to correctly use a filter, understand proper maintenance requirements, set up a distribution network for micro-business sales of filters, understand and share hygiene education tools etc
The Trainer who came all the way from Aqua Clara Kenya is Mr John Nyagwencha. There was also Nancy Gilbert from Canada and participants drawn from both the public and private sectors (NGO) of the Nigerian economy.
RIVCHO has concluded plans to carry out an in-house step-down training which will be followed by delivery of this service and product in all the communities where we had deployed rain water harvesting system in recent times.
