Riverine Communities Health & Development Organization (RIVCHO) was at the 2nd South-South Economic Summit which held in Asaba the Delta State Capital from 25TH TO 28TH April 2012. The South-South economic summit was organised by the BRACED Commission which represents the six states in the south-south region of Nigeria namely: Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo and Delta. With the aim of achieving economic and social development across the south-south region and at a national level, the BRACED States organized the Summit to allow investors at a global scale to harness the vast investment opportunities within the Niger Delta.
RIVCHO as a frontline NGO delivering Health Care and Community Development Services to the people of the Niger-Delta maintained a Stand at the Exhibition Arena of the Summit. RIVCHO’s Stand show-cased her past and on-going projects as well as prospects for the future. Health Care Services were also delivered daily by RIVCHO staff present. These Services included free HIV Counseling and Testing (with support from Delta SACA), Female Condom sales, Vital signs monitoring, Health talk etc
Visitors to RIVCHO’s Stand were able to discuss delivery of Corporate Social Responsibility Projects in the Health Care and Community Development Sector with RIVCHO’s Executive Director Rev Francis Waive who was present with other members of Staff.
